Could Not Find Driver With Class Name: com.mysql.jdbc

Could Not Find Driver of MySQL connector when installing the Jira on Linux machine using the bin package. We can fix MySQL driver connector and class name not found an issue in MySQL server.

So you just need to download the MySQL Connector and place .jar file in the location. Jira is used to find out the bug in a software. You need a database connection to connect with the Jira application. Once you have this jar file and put it inside the library folder.

Could Not Find Driver With Class Name: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver:

You can use MySQL 5.6 or above for Jira Applications. This used to find the bugs and for the software development life cycle where you make the task for product release. you can also track the task of the user what they’re doing here on the Jira server.

Step 1: Run the below command.
wget http://dev.mysql.com/get/Downloads/Connector-J/mysql-connector-java-5.1.35.tar.gz

Step 2: Extract the MySQL Connector file,
tar -zxf mysql-connector-java-5.1.35.tar.gz

Step 3: Copy the MySQL connector jar file to below location,

cp mysql-connector-java-5.1.35-bin.jar /opt/atlassian/jira/lib

Step 4: Now restart the Jira Service

./startup.sh
Could Not Find Driver
start it

Also, make changes in vim /etc/my.cnf

mysql connector
make changes

Step 5: Now restart the mysqld service and Jira. 

systemctl restart mysqld
./startup.sh
connector issue mysql
mysql setup
