DPKG Error Parsing File ‘/var/lib/dpkg/updates/0008 In Ubuntu 19.04

if you’re trying to run the below command to update the dpkg database after resolving the issue related to it. Let’s solve the dpkg error parsing file. dpkg is a package installer in Ubuntu and you can install .deb packages using this dpkg –I command. There’re many dpkg reconfigure all commands available in the Ubuntu. So this issue can also be occurred because of dpkg lock frontend and dpkg lock-in Ubuntu.

You’re facing DPKG interrupted, you must manually run below command. This can occur when you update or upgrade the systems. There’s a lock file that you also need to remove for this issue.

sudo dpkg –configure -a

dpkg command not found

Just simply remove all updates in the below locations.

sudo rm -rf /var/lib/dpkg/updates/0008

Clean the cache and all.

sudo apt clean

Now try to update the dpkg database using the same command.

dpkg cache clear
