How To Install Deluge Bit Torrent Client on Ubuntu 20.04

Deluge is an open-source cross-platform bit torrent client available for the ubuntu machine. we have to download it using the commands. Deluge contains the features to bit torrent like protocol encryption, DHT, local peer discovery, peer exchange, and web proxy, etc. Once you have downloaded and install using any of the methods. we can start downloading using this software. we can also use it on a web console. so

Method 1:

We can download the latest version of the deluge. You can install using the
deluge official repository
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:deluge-team/stable
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo apt update
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo apt install deluge 

Method 2: You can also use this command to install the deluge on Linux. so

ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo apt-get install deluged deluge-web deluge-console

Install the GUI using the below command. so

ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo apt-get install deluge

After the installation process, open the deluge user interface.

Enable Autostart Deluge Bit Torrent: so

We can enable autostart. you have to open the startup application from your application menu and open it.

Once it's opened then click on "Add" where you can give any name like "Deluge" and
put the command /usr/bin/python /usr/bin/deluge-gtk and you can leave the
comment section empty if you want. you will see this added here on the list.

Install Qbittorrent On Ubuntu:

Qbittorent is a communication protocol for peer-to-peer file sharing, the world’s most popular torrent and that enables users to distribute data and electronic files over the internet. We don’t need to install any extra repository to install it on the ubuntu. 

sudo apt install qbittorrent

Once the above installation is finished, you can search “qBittorent“. 

Click on “I Agree“.

Open it and start using it.

You will also see a default torrent installed on the ubuntu machine that’s “Transmission“. In some cases, you don’t find it, we can install it using the below command.

sudo apt install transmission
