How To Install RabbitMQ Message Broker On Linux

RabbitMQ is a message broker software that implements AMQP(advanced message queuing protocol). This is free and open-source software used by many small and large enterprises. Let’s see how to install RabbitMQ and rabbitmq user permissions to access via GUI. The rabbitmq default port is 15672. It also provides the rabbitmq web interface. install rabbitmq centos 7

The recommended way to installation of RabbitMq using yum repositories from package cloud or binaries. you can use this for two operations. like Performing background operations and Performing asynchronous operations.

RabbitMQ is lightweight and easy to deploy on-premises and in the cloud. It supports multiple messaging protocols. so

Installation Requirements: rabbitmq user permission rabbitmq default port

  • Erlang repository
  • Epel repository
  • RabbitMQ repository  

The recommend way to installation of all repositories is downloaded from their sites and providing you all the links. so

Download Erlang and Install Epel repository by yum install epel-release on Centos and RabbitMQ Link for downloading other Linux flavor, you may follow this link. so

Step 1: yum repository can be used rabbitmq signing key must be imported first. so

rpm --import

Now Create a rabbitmq.repo file in /etc/yum.repos.d/


Step 2: Install Erlang and rabbitmq-server so

yum install erlang rabbitmq-server

Check version installed so

rpm -qa | grep rabbitmq

Step 3: Start service and enable so

systemctl start rabbitmq-server && systemctl enable rabbitmq-server

Enable the Web Access for RabbitMQ, so

rabbitmq-plugins enable rabbitmq_management

rabbitmq centos install

The owner should be rabbitmq for this location, so

chown -R rabbitmq:rabbitmq /var/lib/rabbitmq/

Step 4: Now create an administrator user for the web console. so

rabbitmqctl add_user webadmin password

Provide Administrator access to the user. so

rabbitmqctl set_user_tags webadmin administrator

rabbitmqctl set_permissions -p / webadmin ".*" ".*" ".*"

Access rabbitmq with http://yourip:15672

rabbitmq centos install

Login with your credential username: webadmin and password: password so

rabbitmq user permissions
