Zoom is a Video conferencing platform where you can do video calling as well as a voice call. You can install zoom on ubuntu using the package. We can also download zoom for Linux and install it. Let’s see, how to install zoom on ubuntu.

How To Install Zoom Client For Ubuntu 19.10/20.04:

We can download the Zoom set up according to our Linux distro. I will install it on the ubuntu machine. So go to this link and select your Linux platform.

 

Once you have selected your Linux distro and then click on download.

The downloaded zoom package will be the name of zoom_amd64.deb. We have to install zoom using the below command. 

[email protected]:~/Downloads$ sudo dpkg -i zoom_amd64.deb 
Selecting previously unselected package zoom.
(Reading database ... 198897 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to unpack zoom_amd64.deb ...
Unpacking zoom (5.1.412382.0614) ...

Or

you can also use this command sudo apt install ./zoom_amd64.deb 

If you face any dependencies issue, run the below command and try it again.

sudo apt --fix-broken install

Once the installation finished and search for “Zoom” Now, you can see the Zoom has been installed using the .deb package on the ubuntu system.

ubuntu zoom

you can also open this application from the terminal by typing “zoom”  then enter and it will open.  

zoom linux

We can start using this application either by signing or join a meeting.

Install Zoom on Ubuntu using software center:

If you don’t want to download zoom and install it using the package, So we can also get it from the ubuntu software center.

Open the “ubuntu software” then search for “Zoom” in the search bar and output will look like the below figure.

Select it and click on “install” then it will start the installation process.

How To uninstall Zoom Client on Ubuntu:

When you no longer required this application and want to uninstall it using the command line on Ubuntu. you can use the below command. 

sudo apt remove zoom
