How To Upgrade Kibana Version From 4.x To 7.x CentOS 7

How To Upgrade Kibana version, If you’re looking for upgrading the Kibana version from 4.x to 7.x. Kibana has used to visualization the data in graphical mode.

Filebeat sends the log to Logstash and Elasticsearch keeps them in memory then it sends to Kibana to visualization the data. Kibana will give you real-time log data.

How To Upgrade Kibana Version From 4.x To 7.x:

You must have installed Kibana’s latest version to get the new features in the Kibana dashboard. you can also create your own custom dashboard in Kibana.

Before upgrading Kibana, Service must be stopped and keep your files backup.

Step 1: Check the Kibana Current Version

/opt/kibana/bin/kibana –version

The current version is 4.4.2 and I have to upgrade it to 7.x version.

Step 2: Now You need to update your kibana repository

Run the below commands and try to upgrade the Kibana.

yum clean all && yum repolist

Step 3: I have manually downloaded the Package, you can simply run the below command to upgrade the Kibana

Manually Download from here wget Kibana

rpm -Uvh kibana-7.0.1-x86_64.rpm

Step 4: Now You will see your previous kibana.yml file is saved as kibana.yml.rpmsave

So what you need to do before starting the Kibana service. Just move your kibana.yml.rpmsave file to cd /etc/kibana/

mv /opt/kibana/config/kibana.yml.rpmsave /etc/kibana/kibana.yml

Step 5: Check Kibana Version

 rpm -qa kibana
