How To Install New Relic Infrastructure Agent In Linux

New Relic is not an open-source monitoring tool. First of all, you need to sign up for a new relic account to get the license key without this you can not do anything. we will show you how to install a new relic infrastructure.

New Relic agent is basically used to install on the server which fetches all the data and displays in GUI mode.

How To Install New Relic Infrastructure Agent In Linux:

This uses the java agent to get the data if your application is java based. There are many agents of New Relic like go, ruby, etc.

Step 1: Signup for new relic

Step 2: Now you will have to create a file where a license key will be defined.

echo “license_key: eu01xx8fbd2esfsdsfs8168d4e1f4a9ba84e1df818 “ | sudo tee -a /etc/newrelic-infra.yml

Step 3: Determine the distribution version number

cat /etc/os-release

check redhat version

Step 4: Now download the newrelic-infra repository

curl -o /etc/yum.repos.d/newrelic-infra.repo

Once you have to download the repository and we need to enable it using the below command.

Step 5: Enable the newrelic-infra repository

yum -q makecache -y –disablerepo=’*’ --enablerepo=’newrelic-infra’

Step 6: Now install the package 

yum install newrelic-infra -y

The above command will install the newrelic infra package on the Linux machine.

Step 7: Start the new relic-infra service

For Centos/Redhat 7

systemctl start newrelic-infra
