Let’s Begin Installation

Step 1: Install the Kibana from Repository 

Create a Kibana repository

sudo yum install kibana -y

You may check it by the Command

rpm -qa kibana

Step 2: Start the service and enable at boot time

sudo systemctl daemon-reload && sudo systemctl start kibana && sudo systemctl enable kibana

Step 3: Add Kibana port 5601 in firewall to access it from the outside the network.

sudo firewall-cmd –permanent –add-port=5601/tcp

sudo firewall-cmd –reload

Note: The Configuratio files location are vary from version to version So, It depends on the version of Kibana. Older 4.x versions used the path /opt/kibana/config/kibana.yml but that has been changed in 5.x to /etc/kibana/kibana.yml

Step 4: Now it’s time to configure Kibana.yml file. By default, Kibana Listen to on localhost which mean if you need to access it from other machine. You need to provide an IP address.

Edit the Kibana Configuration file using

sudo vim /opt/kibana/config/kibana.yml

This setting specifies the IP address of the back end server.

server.host: “192.168.185.143”

The URL of the Elasticsearch instance to use for all your queries.

elasticsearch.url: “http://192.168.185.143:9200

Step 5: Now Access Kibana with your_ip:5061
