Step To Install Java 8 Version Using rpm On CentOS 7

Step to install Java 8 using the rpm command in Linux. This has become the most famous programming language till now because billions of devices are running on it. you use the java when you’re running the tomcat server and building the java based application.

Step To Install Java Version Using rpm:

Once you download the package and you can also directly use the RedHat repository where you can find it and installed. This is compatible with all the operating systems, easy to install and configure. we can also use the below command to check the executable file location. 

whereis java

In this article, we’re going to install java version 8 on RedHat with the
help of rpm package downloaded from Oracle official sites

Step 1: Package Name jdk-8u171-linux-x64.rpm and version is jdk1.8.0_171

Installing java rpm
rpm -ivh jdk-8u171-linux-x64.rpm

Or with yum repository
yum install java* -y

Step 2: Check what are the dependencies installed along with these packages.

rpm –qa java* 

Step To Install Java

Go to the location where java installed.

ls /usr/java/

Step 3: Check Java Version

java –version

Now java installed on your Server and you can also see there would JRE package installed as well.
